Mark Allred is a certified luthier and graduate of the Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery, spring class of 2014. After graduating, Mark opened Allred Guitars Custom Building & Guitar Repair Shop at Bragg’s Pie Factory on historic Grand Avenue, just down the street from Robert-Venn. Mark joined the R-V team, first as a workshop assistant in spring 2019, and then as an instructor of acoustic and electric guitar making in fall 2019. His positive attitude, creativity, quality craftsmanship and instructing abilities have been invaluable to the school. Mark specializes in custom built instruments, custom modifications, repairs, and set-ups and prides himself on quality and attention to detail. He is also a member of the Phoenix-based bands, The Haymarket Squares and The Blood Feud Family Singers, plus he performs solo as Candy Corn Vampires (ambient/post-rock) and E.B. Workman (electric blues). Mark shares his home and heart with his wife Kate and their troupe of feline companions. He is an ardent advocate for animal rights and sustainable building practices.
