When it comes to creating a unique instrument, Ben Liggett understands the necessary consideration for playability and intuitiveness; one must forget that they are holding an instrument and instead, the guitar becomes a seamless extension of oneself. Liggett builds electric guitars that are thin and lightweight, yet simultaneously substantial in feel – appropriate for playing hours on end in the studio or on stage.
Liggett has a deep respect for the beauty of natural and exotic woods, and prefers to display and celebrate the wood in its organic state without coating his guitars in paint. His reverence for natural beauty is evident in his elegant and sleek designs.
Ben Liggett received his introduction to guitar making from the Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery in Phoenix, Arizona in 2012. He then became a full time luthier at Bishline Banjos, where he has been building custom instruments for over seven years alongside its founder, Rob Bishline, a fellow graduate of Roberto-Venn. Liggett has his own shop, Liggett Guitars, where he builds his own line of custom electric guitars. Liggett Guitars is currently based out of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
