Ray Byrne attended the Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery and spent several years as a luthier building and repairing guitars before returning to his first love: cymbals. Byrne’s lifelong passion for music and instruments inspired him to attend Roberto-Venn to hone his craftsmanship skills and strengthen his ever-present appreciation for the quality of sound.
Byrne hand-shapes, hand-hammers, tensions, and lathes each cymbal with great attention to detail. Byrne, an accomplished luthier and craftsman, creates each individual cymbal from a raw, unworked B20 bronze cymbal blank. Each cymbal is unique and made to order; distinct from other companies who mass-produce products.
